Will the cannon boom gold or black? Vote here on which team will win the 2023 Cannon Game

There's a plethora of high school sports action happening this week, including one of the most anticipated football matchups of the season.

Pueblo South and Pueblo East face off against each other in the 48th Cannon Game at 7 p.m. Friday at Dutch Clark Stadium.

Last year's game was cut short after a brawl broke out in the waning moments of the first half, resulting in the entire South team being disqualified. The ensuing fight saw players and coaches from both sides getting involved.

Pueblo East was leading 23-0 with a minute remaining in the half when a South player was hit late out of bounds on the South sideline, sparking the fight as well as the game's end, giving East ownership of the Cannon for the first time since 2018.
